Day 1
Pour the peatmoss into the container.
Dampen with tapwater. Do not overwater the peatmoss, it should still be firm while damp to the touch.
Level the peatmoss evenly. You may use your hands or the gardening tool to help.
Sprinkle the seed on top of the peatmoss & press down.
Cover with a damp towel to prevent the peatmoss from drying out & leave aside for four days.
Day 4
Remove the towel and expose the sprouts under light to let them grow further.
Be sure to keep the peatmoss damp throughout the growing period.
Day 7 / Day 14
Day 7: Luscious white radish microgreens will be ready for you to harvest. Snip off & enjoy!
Day 14: Vibrant red amaranth microgreens will be ready for you to harvest. Snip off & enjoy!
Microgreens Kit FAQ
Microgreens can be eaten raw and used as a garnish on just about any dish– salads, pizzas, toasts, porridge, noodles, soups, rice, even desserts!
Yes! Be sure to leave the microgreens near a light source such as beside a window or under an LED/grow light.
All parts of the kit are reusable except the peatmoss. Unfortunately peatmoss can lose its ability to absorb water as well as its acidity when reused. The roots from the microgreens will also be stuck onto the moss.
You can compost the peatmoss upon finishing.
Yes you can! The kit is designed so that you can enjoy White Radish Microgreens for 1 week & Red Amaranth in the next week!
If you wish to harvest both microgreens at the same time, follow the following steps:
- Dampen & level the peatmoss
- Sprinkle the Red Amaranth Microgreen seeds on one half of the grow tray & press for 4 days
- On the 7th day, sprinkle the White Radish Microgreens on the other half of the tray & press down for 4 days.
- On the 14th day, both microgreens will be ready to harvest!
Water the peat moss.
If it has been growing for more than 10 days (White Radish) / 17 days (Red Amaranth), do harvest all the remaining microgreens & store them in a container with a damp paper towel.
The microgreens will not regrow once they have been harvested.
Moisture content & light will affect the growth of the microgreens. If you’re microgreens are still looking small on the harvest day, let it grow under the light for a few more days.
